What services do you provide?

We provide 2D, 3D & 4D elective ultrasound services that obtain amazing images of your expected baby. Baby's First Images captures, produces and preserves your images professionally like no other facility so that you can enjoy them for a lifetime.  Our procedures are non-invasive, done on the belly and always performed by a Certified Ultrasound Technologist.  Our facility feels like a spa/medical/home theater environment for you and your family to enjoy.

When is the best time for a 3D/4D ultrasound?

The best time for an 3D/4D ultrasound session is completely a matter of the mothers opinion. You have to ask yourself,

"What stage of development do I want to capture?"

Keep in mind we do sessions from 16 weeks to full term, however we suggest that the best time for 3D/4D should be around 22-34 weeks.  Twins should come in or before 27 weeks.  Because you see different things at different stages and all repeat sessions are $99, many mothers visit 2 - 4 times to capture the different stages of development.

What stage of development is the best for having a 3D/4D session?  Great question and every mother has her own opinion, however use this chart below to choose what stage or stages you want to have done.  There is always "give and take" at each stage of development, but they are all beautiful.  That's why many families come more than once.

You can get the full body in the shots and a great upgrade from just plain 2D.

Images usually are from the mid section and up so you get some body with the face.

The baby is larger with facial features and fat layers showing fuller development.

take

But, the baby is smaller and images may not be as vivid because of early stage of development.

Great happy medium, not early stages nor fully developed stages either.

The baby is big now so all you are going to get is just the face or sections of the body.

Other tips:

  • Keep in mind, all babies love to cuddle and most of the time have their hands near their face or even sucking their thumbs, rubbing eyes, etc.

  • Drink the amount of water your physician recommends (typically 64oz. per day) weeks prior to your session or you will not get vivid images.

  • All moms can come in as early as 16 weeks for gender determination.

  • Mom's with Twins should come in before 27 weeks for full development images and 16-18 weeks to attempt to get them together.

  • Heavier set or more full figured mothers should come in around 28-35 weeks (for 3D/4D - gender 16 weeks and out).

Is there anything I can do to help get good images?

Please remember that drinking your physician's daily consumption of water (typically 64 oz per day) for about a week or two prior to your session is the best thing you can do.  Also, you can consume a food or drink that you know will make your baby active.  We know you know your baby better than anyone, so if you know of a food, drink or activity that gets your baby moving, by all means feel free to do them just before your travels to our facility.

What if I do "not" want to know the sex of my baby?

We can provide this amazing service with or without determining gender.

Does your facility use certified ultrasound technologists?

Yes, every session is performed by Certified Ultrasound Technologists and if you don't have your session done here, you should ask if "your specific session" will be performed by certified ultrasound technologists, because some facilities do not!

What ultrasound machine do you use?

Our facilities just upgraded to the next generation 3D/4D machine on the market - the Medison 8000 PRIME LIVE.  This is the latest technology available on the market today!  For those who do not know, Medison invented 3D/4D technology and shares its technology with other companies because it is the industry's best 3D/4D technology.  Although our new systems has the latest version of this 3D/4D technology, companies like GE still use older dated versions of this technology in their GE 730 systems.  When you want the best images you can get, it is all in the technology and technician's performing your session.  Simply put, Baby's First Images is so excited to offer this new technology to our pregnant mothers and remember, your session will always be performed by a Certified Ultrasound Technologist.  Invest wisely and get the latest, most brilliant images possible with the newest ultrasound system available, right here at Baby's First Images.

How long are your "specials/discounts" going to run?

We do not have a designated stop date for our specials.  However, as long as you book your appointment at any date in the future you would like to come in while the special price is published on our website, you will be locked in at that special price.

When do I get the contents of my package?

We have a mini-photo lab onsite so we are able to produce your pictures at the time of your session so that you will receive your CD disks,  videos and everything else in your package before you leave our facility.

What forms of payment do you accept?

In order to ensure the utmost security for our clients, staff and the facility, we do not keep nor accept cash or checks at our facilities.  We ONLY accept Visa, Master Card and debit cards and money orders.  We understand this may pose a minor inconvenience to some, yet we believe the security benefit is worth it to our families. ***Also note that we do not accept Medicaid, Medicare or Insurance, although submitting your receipt to your insurance company may be worth inquiring.

What is the difference between 2D. 3D and 4D?

Keep in mind 2D, 3D and 4D are features/technology on the ultrasound system that produce images.  2D technology is the black/white technology and is used for gender determination and to listen to the baby's heartbeat.  3D produces color still shot pictures.  4D, in simple terms, is 3D in movement.  So if your baby is sucking his/her thumb, crying, yawning, etc. you will see his/her movements and gestures in the color technology.  In order to capture all of this 4D movement, you will need to make sure you have chosen a video option.

Do you take "measurements" or can you tell me the weight of my baby?

We do not perform measurements or estimate baby weights as this is considered part of the diagnostic examination that you receive at your physician's office.  This is should only be done at your physician's office and our services should in no way supplement proper prenatal care.

Do I need to hold my bladder before my session?

No you do not.  However, it is vital that you drink the amount your physician has recommended (usually 64-80 oz. of water or non-caffeinated clear fluids per day) during you pregnancy and especially 1-2 weeks prior to your session with us in order to get vivid images of your babyAs a matter of fact, you probably will not get very vivid images if you do not.

See the difference in what drinking your physician's recommended daily consumption of water or non-caffeinated clear fluids (typically 64-80 oz. per day) the WEEKS prior to your session can make?

Good fluids around the baby.

Little fluids around the baby.

Mom, Got Water?

How early can you determine gender?

We do gender determination as early as 16 weeks and up to full term.  Gender determination is always done in 2D B&W technology for reliability purposes, however it can be requested in color 3D/4D if you purchase the Quick Peek or Complete packages.  Additionally, we do gender determination (if requested) for every package we offer and at every revisit to give our mothers that extra peace of mind.  Although you can do 3D/4D at the early stages and some mother want to capture those stages in 3D/4D, keep in mind that your baby is in its early stages of development.  If you want more developed images in 3D/4D if might be best to do gender determination at the early stages and come back to do a 3D/4D session between 24-32 weeks.

What if you can't determine gender?

Although it's very rare we can not tell what you are having during your initial visit, if for some reason the position of the baby forbids us the ability to determine its gender during your session, we will invite you back for an additional Gender Check at no additional cost.  This applies to all packages.

Will I receive as good an images of my baby as the images I see in the media?

Typically, however the most important factor is the position of the baby. Other critical factors include the amount of amniotic fluid (drink lots of water!) and the amount of maternal tissue between the probe and the baby.  Bottom line is, each mother and baby are unique and so is each session.  If you are not completely happy with your images, you can take advantage of our REDO option.  The REDO option must be chosen before you leave our facility.

Are the 10-15 minute packages enough time to capture "a lot" of images of my baby?

The 10-15 minute package is not designed to capture "a lot" of images rather it is designed for those mothers who are not interested in a full session package and just want a picture or two of their baby to cherish a lifetime - it is truly "Quick Peek" package.  The difference is that our standard full session package is  25-30 minute studio sessions that allows us the standard time to work and obtain a host of images and poses allowing you to pick from the best images for your prints at the end.  10-15 minutes is very quick so make sure this is enough time for your objective.

Is ultrasound safe?

This is probably the most important question to ask.  The bottom line is that ultrasound has been monitored by the government for over 35 years and if it were not safe, hospitals, clinics and facilities like ours would not be allowed to use the equipment.  Moreover, at Baby's First Images we only use certified ultrasound technicians to perform every sessions.  However, the best way to  answer this question is to read the official statement of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine:

"No confirmed biological effects on patients or instrument operators caused by exposure at intensities typical of present diagnostic ultrasound equipment have ever been reported. Although the possibility exists that biological effects may be identified in the future, current data indicates that the benefits to patients outweigh the risk, if any, that may be present."

A.I.U.M. website, 2003.

What training do your sonographers have?

All of our friendly sonographers are certified ultrasound sonographers with extensive training in 3D/4D ultrasound procedures.  Our certified ultrasound sonographers carry over 20 years of combined ultrasound experience and have captured the best images we have seen anywhere.

Do I need a note from my doctor?

No, however it is essential that you contact your physician if you have any questions about having this service done.  Our services do not and should not replace any facet of your prenatal care.  You should address all of your medical concerns with your physician prior to having a session with Baby's First Images.

How long does each session last?

It depends on what session you choose so check out each package for details.  Then add an additional 5-15 minutes to go through your images, print out the one's you want and collect payment.

What is a "Online Baby Web Album"?

First off, we invite you to bring any friends and family members with you to your session.  We promote a family environment.  However, we understand that many friends and family are distant.  So, we create a secure Online Baby Album on the internet for you to share with friends and family who can not make it with you to your session.  You have complete control of who you would like to invite to share your album. (Complete Package only).

How many people are allowed in the studio while performing the session?

We have had as many as 10 people in the room at one time.  At that point, it does become standing room only, yet we certainly invite you to bring as many friends and family to your session as you like to share in this amazing experience.

What format are your DVD's?

We use the most widely accepted format, DVD-R.

What will my VHS and DVD video look like?

Our videos are "live" recordings of your entire session set to beautiful baby music.

Do I need an appointment for a Baby's First Images session?

Yes.  Click on packages, select your location and select the package and book your appointment right online (or call us if you prefer).

"We really enjoyed our experience at Baby's First Images. It was so neat to be able to see the baby in such detail. It was also nice that both sets of parents were allowed to be in the room with us to share the experience. The free Online Baby Album was a great feature because we were able to share the pictures with friends and family that do not live nearby. I am definitely going to recommend Baby's First Images to all of my pregnant friends.  Thanks,"
